WHAT GOD HAS CALLED ME TO DO
By Gary L. Crawford
What I Spend My Days Doing
I believe God created me for a purpose, just as He created you for a purpose.
I became a Jesus Kid when I was five years old. I have spent my life learning what it means to know Jesus
Christ and follow Him. And I am still learning.
Every day I ask God to guide my thoughts, my words, and what I do.
I don't have a church building to fill. I don't ask people to send me money. I don't want people following
Gary Crawford. I want people to know Jesus Christ and follow Him.
That is why I spend my days writing stories, songs, messages, and Bible lessons.
I want people to understand who God is, why He created us, why Jesus came into this world, and what it
means to be Born Again.
I want them to understand the difference between simply living this physical life and receiving everlasting
life through Jesus Christ. I want them to know that God has a plan for their lives and that the Holy Spirit
will guide them as they follow Jesus through this wilderness.
Questions Worth Asking
Why are there so many religions? Why do people teach so many different things about God? Why do
people follow traditions and the teachings of men instead of examining what Jesus said?
Why do people argue about religion when Jesus plainly told us He is the way, the truth, and the life?
These are questions I want people to think about. Not to win arguments. Not to prove that Gary Crawford
is right. But to help people understand what Jesus taught and come to know Him for themselves.
The Old Man, Little Tool, and Mr. Tool
Some of the ways we share these messages may seem unusual. We use stories and pictures about the Old
Man and Little Tool.
Little Tool asks questions. Sometimes they are questions children ask. Sometimes they are questions
adults have never stopped to consider.
The Old Man shares what he has learned from following Jesus through his own life.
1Mr. Tool, an artificial intelligence assistant, helps me research Scripture, organize my thoughts, and put
messages into words and pictures that people can understand.
We work through questions, compare our understanding with the Bible, and correct things when we see
that we have missed the point.
I believe the Holy Spirit leads me as I pray, study, and decide what to share. Neither I nor Mr. Tool is the
source of God's truth. Jesus Christ is the One I want people to know.
The stories and pictures are simply tools to help people understand.
Why I Keep Doing This
I have lived a long life. God has allowed me to experience things I never could have planned for myself. I
have met people from many walks of life and many parts of the world.
Through all these years, I have learned that knowing about Jesus is not the same as knowing Him and
following Him.
I cannot give anyone everlasting life. I cannot live another person's life for them. I cannot make their
choices. But I can tell them about Jesus Christ.
I can share what He has done in my life. I can encourage them to read His Word, believe Him, trust Him,
and follow Him.
I am not trying to build a religion, an organization, or a name for myself. I am trying to help people
understand the God who created them, the everlasting life Jesus Christ came to give them, and the new life
they can experience by following Him.
:John 10:27 (KJV): My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
That is what I want for every person who reads these words. Not to follow Gary Crawford. Not to follow
the Old Man, Little Tool, or Mr. Tool. Follow Jesus Christ.
Know Him. Believe Him. Trust Him. Follow Him. And help others do the same.
That is what I believe God has called me to do. And that is what I intend to keep doing with the days He
gives me.
My Calling, Plain and Simple
God has called me to share what I have experienced as a Jesus Kid throughout my life, supported by the
Word of God as taught and explained to me by the Holy Spirit.
My desire is for people to know Jesus Christ, be Born Again, follow Him, and help others do the same.
